Young Living Review: Young Living History

It is an amazing story as to how Young Living came to be. When Donald Gary Young was in his 20’s, he had moved to Canada where he was logging. An accident happened and he was in a wheelchair for a while. During that time, Donald became fascinated with alternative medicines and was drawn to essential oils.

In 1989, Donald Gary Young began growing plants to distill and use as essential oils in Washington State. He found the best methods and in 1993, he, along with his wife Mary, founded Young Living in Riverton, Utah. And at a later date, the company was moved to Lehi, Utah.

The Young’s began purchasing farmlands in Utah and Idaho. They cultivate the various herbs used in manufacturing essential oils.

Young Living has spread around the world and they have also gained farming lands in other countries.

Young Living has offices in

  • Singapore
  • Australia
  • Japan
  • Europe
  • and Canada

Through the painstaking steps of our proprietary Seed to Seal production process, we produce the best, most authentic essential oils in the world. We are committed to providing pure, powerful products for every family and lifestyle, all infused with the life-changing benefits of our essential oils.”

  • You get 8% of sales commissions off the 1st level distributors under you, 5% of the commission for distributors under them and 4% for distributors under them.
  • The product line is huge.

  • You need a solid upline to give you the support and training.

Young Living Review: What Others Have to Say

It is always good to see what the masses are saying about a MLM company before deciding to join.

I decided to give you a look at what other people are saying:

Being independent, you make your own schedule, you work as much as you want, the more value you provide to the market place, the more you get paid. Helps you become a better person, being that you have to help people achieve what they want in life, then you get your achievements.

This was one of the greatest learning experiences of my life, and I really changed as a person while working here. Since I “moved up” in the company as the years went on, I was able to experience a real understanding of all of the departments while there. I was there for 12 years, and had a truly inspirational mentor/supervisor while there. He helped me get the position in the Research and Development Department formulating the products with the owner, and creating a filing system for the thousands of pages of research on the Essential Oils and how they affect the body.
It was also great to be part of the labeling department, as I learned a great deal about the laws in the United States, Australia, Germany, and Japan for cosmetics, foods, personal care, and supplements. As Labeling Manager, I worked with all of the departments on one level or another getting products created, packaged, marketed, and shipped.

In the time that I've worked for this company, I thought I was going into a pleasant and professional workplace. I came to find out that it was all a load of bologna. Your work means nothing to anybody even if you are recognized for it, and all it is just getting yelled at by people who think they're sitting at the top (for the most part) Coworkers can be great but work life balance sucks here.

Want to feel like a child again? Work at Young Living. They overwork you like crazy. They make you work with 3 customers at a time, even though you were only hired to work with 2 at a time. If you are a good employee throughout all of your employment, that does not matter. They only reward and recognize employees with great improvement. This company does not value their employees. They only care about the money. Quality over quantity??? Not here. They somehow expect you to get both in unrealistic times. I am warning you – DO NOT WORK HERE. They pay fantastic, but it is not worth it. Say goodbye to your happiness if you do.

A few employees have gone to the hospital due to anxiety from this job, however, they do not care. Have a close family member die? They don't care. I cannot tell you enough how much this company does not care about their employees. They say they are “family oriented” but they are far from it. Mary and Gary had great dreams for this company, it is too bad management has completely destroyed the place. The turnover rate at this company is HIGH. Why? Because they treat dirt better than their employees. Trying to follow policies? Don't even bother. Policies don't matter when everyone makes a “one time exception.”

From the looks of Young Living, I would say they have a solid MLM company with a good opportunity.

If essential oils is something you have a passion for, Young Living may be your “cup of tea.” I would suggest you visit their website at:
